Sleep

I needed sleep.. the good kind, the kind when you wake up you don’t even care what time it is, you just roll over and sleep. Things have been weighing on my mind and I haven’t slept in a while. Last night I went to bed at 8:30pm and slept until 10:00am today. I called in sick knowing that the aches and pain and anxiety were worthy of a sick day. I feel much better tonight.

We picked up Drew and took him to see Rango, then dropped him off at a birthday party. There is a major storm brewing, classic spring thunderstorm. I was so thankful I wasn’t driving. The storm was beautiful though, pounding rain, loud thunder, brilliant lightening. The kind I prefer to watch from the inside of my house. Instead we were down near the Missouri River, watching the rain rush down the streets toward the river  at a quick pace. I was confident that we weren’t in any danger of being swept away. I didn’t like that we were leaving Drew in the midst of a tornado warning. The smart ass dad in charge of the party, which was at a school gymnasium…pointed to the stairwell informing me that is where they would go if the sirens go off.. and to dig there.

Now I have an hour or so to chill before driving back to pick him up.

I took care of myself today getting much needed rest and I also talked to my mom again.. and my husband.. telling the two of them that they will need to compromise if we are to eventually move in there. We’ll see how this is going to go.

Times they are a changing..

WOW.. Just clicking around things have really really changed. I started to go down my blogroll.. where did the people go? It seems like around 2008 everyone just quit. Do we blame facebook?

This is the time to blog though, it’s so easy and stylish and cute and stuff.. I realized reading old posts I’ve really missed it. I miss being me. I said last year that people on facebook.. old classmates and work friends, they don’t want to know that I peed my pants a little when I heard a loud clash of thunder.. but here I can write it and I don’t care. I’m not making anyone read this. If you do, fine.. if you don’t fine. Don’g get me wrong, I LURVE me some comments.. I used to be a great comment whore.. now I could really care less if I… who am I kidding? Of course I want readers, I’m just not going to mix my real life and my facebook life out in the open.

Today was a good day and a shitty day.

• It was 70 degrees
• The ICE is melting
• I crossed off a few things that need to be done before dad can come home
• Had a great discussion with a bff

Shitty Day

• I had to work inside and didn’t enjoy any of the beautiful weather
• I still have quite a few things to do for mom and dad and feel pulled in all directions, I’m having a difficult time delegating
• I know I’m getting support and lots of people have asked what they can do but I am just not seeing how people can really help me
• I fucking fell down my mom’s step in the garage and landed on my hip and arm and it hurts

Most of all I’m glad that I’m blogging again..putting my thoughts down through the keypad just really is helping, I should have been doing this months ago.

And it’s not even winter yet!

Ice, snow, sleet, sneet, freezing rain..you name it we’ve had it since Monday. Nothing major though..no downed power lines, no major interstate shut downs.. The crap was all predicted so the streets were OK.

From the looks of the poll we are tie between..it will get down when I get it done..and I have a plan, it will all work out.

Tonight J and I are going to finish our shopping. We are doing a gift exchange w/ J’s family  so we have to get something for his aunt and cousin..and we also need to get something for his mom and sister… plus one Pokemon board game, then I think we’re finished.

Work has been OK.. not near as busy as the past few years.

I still have my addition to Facebook. It really is like computer crack.

There are TONS of movie’s I want to see. I have to tell you though, especially if you have kids..1st Grade or older, GO SEE DELGO. It is getting HORRIBLE revue’s and a bad rap..it is a GREAT movie! Personally I thought it was better than Wall E..it had a great story line and the animation was great. Drew totally loved it. We saw it Saturday night at 7pm and we were the only 3 in the theater.. in a time where there are not an abundance of movies for kids…don’t let this one pass you by.

Bunch of people I know at AB just lost their jobs..I think if you have a job to bitch about you are lucky.

I think I’m getting a little more into the holiday spirit..I am going to the Symphony on Saturday night, if that won’t do it, nothin will!

Baby it’s cold outside

Finally!!
As you can see I finally updated pictures of Jack, I was comparing pictures from a few weeks ago. Baby sure did mature, facial hair and everything.

Well I did it. I told a coworker about the blog. Well she’s different, she’s like my doppleganger. Except a 20 something version..who is skinny w/ dark hair. Anyway she knew most of the stories I wrote about and has vowed not to tell anyone here at the office..not like I’m stupid enough to slam work anyway.

Last night the two of us went to the St Louis Rotisserie for dinner…AWESOME chicken and cheap then we went to see Elizabeth, The Golden Age. OMG it was great. I thought it was as good as the first one. Cate Blancette is amazing. This thing smells of an Oscar. By the time we got out of the movie theater it was really cold outside. I had food for J in the car, it was like being in the fridge.

I got home by 10pm played on the internet, took pictures of the animals and hit the hay. Thank God J didn’t mess w/ the thermostate, it was PERFECT sleeping weather.

I have a haircut appointment tonight..so I’m doing haircut and grocery shopping. J’s sitting outside w/ Drew while he has soccer practice. I’m not totally getting out of this though since he has a tournament game tomorrow night and it’s supposed to be equally chilly. I welcome the turtlenecks and sweaters. I do have to go buy more long pants..the warm kind. Almost everything I have right now are either light weight or capri.

Here is a first for me: Did you every get shocked in the boob? Yesterday I got shocked TWICE while leaning in the door frame at work. MAN that smarts.

Ricky Martin has a star on the Walk of Fame. Ricky Martin…hips gyrating, Menudo guy. Who are they going to give one too next? Vanilla Ice? Well I guess that’s not fair…

Dick Cheney and Obama are 8th cousins. THAT is cool. What are the chances that 2 distant relatives that didn’t know each other would BOTH be in high profile politics. That is cool.

Baby Jessica from the well…remember her, if you don’t that means you are 12.. WOW I’m mean today… any way she is getting something like a million bucks that have been in a trust since the whole dreaded well incident. Baby Jessica is a mom now. Yea that makes me feel really old.

We’re supposed to get storms, tornadoes and hail today. Here is me…without a window to watch it.

There was a sandstorm in CA that actually killed someone. Isn’t that freaky.

I just got a reminder call…like I could forget…tonight is Jack’s puppy school. Does this mean that he will quit tugging on the bottom of my pants? Will he quit biting my hands? Will he automatically walk on a leash? After $100 or so I hope the answer to all of the above is YES!

George Lucas is creating a TV show based on the Star Wars minor characters. I think that is TOTALLY AWESOME. Can you imagine? I wonder when it will take place. I’m hoping it will be during the Clone Wars. They can either do this really right or totally screw it up. I hope it is on the Sci Fi channel..I don’t want one of the major networks getting ahold of this. I’ll have to look into it. From what I understand David Eckstein’s wife is in it…I can’t remember her name and don’t feel like looking it up.

I REALLY need to get some new pictures of Jack, I can’t believe I am such a bad mommy.

Today is my mom and dad’s anniversary.. 54 years?? I guess I’ll have to ask. Don’t you agree that an Anniversary..other than 25 or 50 should be something shared between a husband and a wife?? I don’t feel that their anniversary is something I should celebrate, do you agree or am I a selfish bitch?

I’ve been cleaning house. NO not that type. I’ve deleted some of my favorites in my browser and a while back took off some people on my reading list. I mean..if you aren’t Pioneer Woman, Dad Gone Mad or Dooce (all though I have received a couple emails from Danny Evans)..then you can give a girl a courtesy comment every once and again…especially if that person is commenting on almost all of your posts. Don’t you agree? There are some that I just REALLY enjoy reading so much I don’t care if I get comments, aka Bossy. Am I the only one that feels that way. I do need to add to my side reading bar, not today though.

SO…we have a NEW KILLER.. Not AIDES anymore, this is associated w/ Staf Infections. There are all kinds of medical words and abbreviations..all I know is that you can carry it in your mucous and skin and it has been found in hospitals, schools and old folks homes..great. That’s all we need. I always did think that we used antibiotics for WAY to much stuff.
Remember when Aides was a diet candy. There were brown and kinda looked like a heart worm pill. My mom used to take those. I remember when the disease was first named in the 80′s I thought “ooo there is a marketing nightmare for the diet pills”… wonder if they renamed them or just went out of business. Hmmm

OK..back to work! Have a happy humpday!

Sweater Weather!

Oh yeah! I woke up this morning to take Jack out and about froze my booty off. It was around 45 degrees outside.

It was time to break out the NEW SWEATER!! Earlier this summer if you recall I hit the Dillards sale..take an extra 30% off. I found a sweater on the sales rack that I HAD to have. It’s a Susan Bristol PINK sweater w/ yellow, orange, pink and lime threads weaving through. It’s a cardigan w/ pretty mother of pearl type large ass shell sized buttons. I put this on OVER my white turtle neck.

I have to tell you I am SO psyched to have on closed toe shoes NOT sandals ; long pants NOT capri’s; Turtle neck and sweater NOT a T shirt. The air smells crisp too.

Now it’s going to get to 75 degrees this weekend but that is OK…we have Drew’s school Fair.

Well I’m going to have a busy day today. Work, Dad to the doctor..work again? then dog to vet.. they are also installing our new backdoor. We no longer will have an old TV against the door to keep out bad guys.
